Whether it’s the colourful Carnival parades or the enchanting Flower Festival, there’s always something happening that captures the festive spirit of the islanders. Here are some of the key events, organised chronologically and held in various locations: 

Carnival

Funchal  |  Carnival in Madeira is a burst of joy, with colourful parades and street parties transforming the city into a vibrant samba parade. The Allegorical Parade adds even more colour and excitement to the festivities.

Flower Festival 

Funchal  |  Spring is celebrated with the iconic Flower Festival. Decorations and flower carpets adorn the city, and the magnificent Flower Parade is an unforgettable highlight of this fragrant celebration.

Atlantic Festival

Gastronomy Festival of São Vicente 

São Vicente  |  In August, São Vicente hosts the Gastronomy Festival, where visitors can savour traditional Madeiran dishes such as bolo do caco and black scabbardfish, accompanied by live entertainment.

Columbus Festival

Nature Festival
